Editing

If you want a quick copyedit just to make sure that you haven’t left any embarrassing mistakes, I can offer that to you. I won’t gratuitously change your voice, and I won’t change things just for the pleasure of imposing my will on your work.

I know the difference between formal English and colloquial, and I’ll help you use the right language for your audience. I won’t make your work unnecessarily formal just because it’s correct, and I won’t let you sound like a junior high school kid either.

There are two levels of editing available:

• Developmental: Your work will be analyzed for structure, audience, language choices, and logic, in addition to copyedit-level edits.
• Copyedit: Your work will be analyzed for grammar and punctuation, style and syntax, length and template adherence.

Everyone needs their work edited by an objective reader, and that’s what I have to offer. If all you need is a little brush up, choose copyediting. If you want to grow and learn as a result of this experience, choose developmental editing.
